Screening Process

In my new bungalow, I’m planning to use the second bedroom as a “dressing room” as posted here. For some reason, all of the closets are doorless, so I’d like to set up a screen to close off the closet and provide a little changing area. I’m envisioning Rachel McAdams in Sherlock Holmes (here is the scene). Of course, lovely mirrored screens, like those found on 1stdibs are a bit out of price range. So, I might have to settle for something less dramatic. I’ve found a few lovelies on overstock. Thoughts? The room is sortof black and red, I haven’t decided whether or not to paint but the screen would be on the black side.

1-3 & 6 are 1stdibs but the rest are overstock! I’m leaning towards the faux croc screens (4 & 12).

Hey Cupcake

The week is half over! Thank goodness…I hate to wish away summer days that are so fleeting, but sometimes RuPaul comes to visit and the weeks just draaag. That’s a little cubicle humor for you. And now…some cupcake porn a la Bliss Cupcakes right here in Fayetteville.

Happy Wednesday loves!

Parisian Chic

Today is one of  “those” days. The ones that make you want to drop everything and fly to Paris to sit in a cafe, hide behind your sunglasses and escape.

Weekly Wish: gold lamé

Gold Lamé polish. Not lame at all, wouldn’t this polish be divine for end-of-summer soirées?. I adore gold lamé, I have a vintage gold lamé skirt passed down from my mama that I’m looking forward to busting out come fall.

…still loving Robin’s Egg/ Tiffany blue polish.

Beginnings

It’s the beginning of the month and the week for all of us. It’s the beginning of a new house and a new year for me. Sometimes that can feel tiresome and old-hat but hopefully it is refreshing and exhilarating. For my 25th birthday, I gave myself a diet as a present. It wasn’t exactly fun getting here (no processed foods, no drinking, no starches/sugars) but I’m reaping the benefits now (rediscovering my closet/cheekbones). I hope to take the past four weeks of restricted eating into consideration as the diet ends. My goal is to appreciate food more, to spend time discovering recipes, spices, cooking, chewing, smelling and savoring. As much as I’d love to dive into a stack of pancakes and devour a pizza, I’m really craving things like eggs, avocados and cheese. Hopefully the beach in a month will keep my motivation up!
