Thankful
Counting one’s blessings is always a healthy and humbling thing to do. This year I’m thankful for a handsome new husband, a healthy and expanded family, sweet friends, puppies, yummy food, free time and so much more. I always think of Thanksgiving as a passage into six weeks of holidays and it’s lovely to be on the front end.
A happy girl is a pretty girl, don’t you agree?
What I Wore: Black & Blue
(what i wore: dress – thrifted, peep toe booties – forever21, sunnies that are both round & cateye – ebay)
Oh hello. I was feeling blue yesterday because I’ve given up hope of staying sweat-free on my wedding day. At least everyone will be dripping wet when it’s 105 degrees at 8pm. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best!!!
People might mistake my tears for sweat beads if I get a little emo (….I got a good man, anything could happen when someone tells me I get to keep him forevs). I hit a weight loss goal so the slightly gigantic hair is in honor of that. Or something. And yes. I am wearing sunglasses in the bathroom just because I wanted to show them off. I also couldn’t get anyone to go outside long enough to take a picture of me in a more sunglass-appropriate sitch.
It is THAT HOT.
Laughs
I’ve had a really tough week at work. I can’t pin down exactly what the problem is. I’m sure it’s a combination of work/life/wedding stress that’s effecting my attitude. Anyway, something made me laugh today and I instantly felt better. It truly is the best medicine.

Enjoy your weekend, Darling.
With all the craziness, sadness and unpredictability of our society today, it is evermore important to hold on to what’s real and valuable in our lives.
I hope something makes each and every one of you devastatingly happy this weekend.
I’ll be relaxing, celebrating a dear friend’s upcoming baby girl and continuing to nest in the new place.
My wedding dress comes in next Thursday, then it’s off to New Orleans for my bachelorette celebration with college friends. Don’t we all have so much to look forward to?
Sad Songs
It’s Monday. I’m listening to Purple Rain and I can’t make you love me on repeat. I had a bit of disappointment this weekend. Sometimes, the only thing that makes me feel better is a severely depressing song. Et tu?
Do you need a depressing song for your Monday?
Moving & Marrying
As of Friday morning (the same day I woke up at 4am to watch the royal wedding) there was nothing packed in either Robert’s or my house. As of today, we are living in the new house. So… a lot went down over the last few days. There was rain, there was 40 degree weather, there were floods and not everything is complete… BUT! we spent the night there last night! I cannot put into words the relief I feel today as I think about my new home with the guy I love and our little doggies. More to come about decorating and the like…
I hope you had a good weekend!

Payton Rosenzweig has been wearing high heels since the age of two. She was brought up in Fayetteville, Arkansas with two younger brothers by a very stylish mom. In her youth she refused pants and wore vintage to school dances. After graduating from Tulane University in 2007, she moved back NWA but is still involved in a love affair with New Orleans. Payton has always loved cosmetics and now works in the beauty industry for a mass brand. As of late, her blog prettypay, has gotten over 1,000 views per week and is focused on fashion, style, music, food, décor and beautiful things. She is newly engaged to a very handsome young man and they are planning an August wedding. She loves champagne, hats, dinner parties, fresh flowers, platforms, live music, dresses with cinched waists and bargain hunting. Payton tries to find inspiration in everything she encounters and always likes to dress for the occasion – whether it’s the theater or the rodeo.
Payton tends to gravitate towards classic feminine silhouettes by Chanel, ODLR and Prada but also likes to switch it up with menswear, vintage and utilitarian. Her favorite styles right now include strong shoulders, peter pan collars, cigarette pants, cat-eye sunglasses, dapper men and (as always) reinvention.
The blogs she is most inspired by are The ManRepeller, {this is glamorous} and Dustjacket Attic.
