In her shoes

Recently began looking at The Cut dailyish, and it’s become addictive. Today I saw an article about Kathryn Amberleigh, a recent F.I.T. grad whose “shoes have graced the pages of Lucky, NYLON, Vice Magazine, WWD Accessories, and even had a twirl on Gossip Girl. And the most impressive part? Most of the handcrafted designs — which come in everything from a simple flat to a neon-pink spike-heel platform — hover around the $250 range. Kathryn’s next goal? A retail location in London. Global recession be damned.” (Natalie Hormilla)

These shoes are G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S-!

Here’s a peek

Dear Spring & Summer

I’ve happened upon a blog called my favorite and my best the author, Jenny is so straightforward and has amazing taste. She wrote an “open letter” to spring and summer, imploring them to come visit us soon. These photos are from her blog but you really must visit her post to get the full effect, you can do that here.

March 14th is daylight savings time. The beginning of Spring (according to me).

Fuzzies

Do you remember fuzzies? My brothers and I all had them as children and we loved them so much that our mother had to physically remove them when the “time” came. Look at this one from Ikea…I literally want to curl up on it. I am very much looking forward to having my own place to sprawl out  and decorate.

Wear this: Open back dress

I am obsessed with backless dresses. I’m talking modern, not hoochie. Tailored, sophisticated, respectful in the front and peek-a-boo backs. Come on Spring!

More V-Day Music

I’ve recently discovered Playlist.com and I really love it. I’m still trying to discover the catch. But…I haven’t yet. It’s really cool, a lot like the old imeem (may it rest). Anyway, I currently dig the Valentines day playlists! So fun!

Valentines

I’ve always loved V-day because it’s my 1/2 birthday! This year I’m excited to be celebrating with my adorable beau but I am very sad to be missing my first Mardi Gras in a couple of years.

I do want to share some of my favorite love/sexy/make-out songs for the occasion.

  • Anything by Ray LaMontagne (spec Shelter, You are the best thing)
  • Feist – Secret heart, Leisure Suite
  • Bon Iver – Skinny Love
  • The Beatles – Julia, I will
  • Talking Heads – This must be the place
  • Citizen Cope – Holding on
  • Radiohead – All I need
  • Kings of Leon – Sex on Fire
  • Sara Bareilles – In your eyes (cover)
  • Lykke Li – Little Bit
  • Des’ree – I’m kissing you (Romeo&Juliet)
  • Sia – Breathe Me
  • Hall & Oates – You make my dreams
  • The Beach boys – Don’t worry baby

Enjoy!

    Flowers

I love flowers. Flower arrangements, bouquets, gardens, wild fields… I recently happened upon ink & peat, they have GORGEOUS designs, just take a peek. They are as lovely to gaze at as to have at your desk, I’m sure.

ink & peat also has a fun blog @ housemartin

Q: What do you wear EVERYDAY?

    A: Your hair.

I’m really into hair accessories. I continually buy headbands at forever21 and I rarely wear them, but when I do, it’s always so much fun for me! Hats, headbands, hair pins, wreaths, flowers. Your hair is up there to be played with! It’s the only thing we style everyday, without fail, even to just throw up in a ponytail or cap. I found a lovely website called ban.do and they have EXPENSIVE but very beautiful accessories for your head. Here is a playlist to listen to while we look at gorgeous hair things. Hair Accessories Mix

Isn’t the girl modeling them gorgeous? She makes me want to go red. The pics above are from their black label collection. They have some less expensive and even bridal options! I can’t stop, forgive me! Below is the below $50 heart collection.

For the bride. Or the dreamer. Or the lady who loves to wear white. Even in winter.

Am I deluded to think that I could make most of those things? I might have to venture outside my local hobby lobby and considering I cannot use superglue without spilling it…I might need some help…but in all seriousness, why am I not doing this?

Since I am hardly going to start my own H.A. business this weekend, here are some that I love from trustly ole Forever ($3-$10).
