What I Wore: Anchors Away

what I wore: trousers – ralph lauren, top – forever21, heels – nine west, earrings – forever21, ear cuffs – claire’s, necklace/necklace as bracelet/pinkie ring – vintage from mae’s

I’m always a fan of dressing on theme, even when there’s no occasion. I couldn’t resist wearing this newly acquired anchor tee with my favorite high waist navy trousers.

What I Wore: Black & Gold

what I wore: dress – cynthia rowley, necklaces/earrings/bracelet – thrifted, rings – forever21, heels – miss me
Love this song black & gold by sam sparro — it goes with my outfit….

What I Wore: Olive

what I wore: dress – r. tease, heels – nine west, bangles – vintage, watch/bracelet – asos, necklace – vintage (mom’s)

Olive is a color I love but don’t often wear. I’ve had this dress for a while but I don’t think I’ve ever worn it. I cleaned out my closet the other night and was pleasantly surprised to find it.

What I Wore: Pattern Play

what I wore: dress – ann taylor (also here) , platforms – bamboo (buy them here), belt – hot topic, earrings – vintage from mae’s

What I Wore: Red & Gold (+ enchiladas)

what I wore: skirt – esque, belt/blouse – vintage via cheap thrills, earrings – charm & chain, ring/bangle – mom’s, bangle – house of harlow, sandals – lovely people, necklaces – vintage via mae’s

Sometimes an outfit centers around earrings or shoes or any accessory. This one centered around this amazing belt.
Also I made chicken enchiladas last night and they were super easy and very yummy. I used this recipe and added black beans, salsa & cilantro.

What I Wore: Mellow Yellow

what I wore: pants – old navy, sweater – isaac misrahi for target, platforms – bcbg, necklace – vintage
This necklace has been in my mom’s closet for as long as I can remember. I promptly lifted it from her only to discover it was broken! With a little help from my friends at Dark Star Visuals I restrung it and always love wearing it.

What I Wore: Peachy Keen

what I wore: dress & belt – vintage from grey dog, heels – kelsi dagger, collar – urban outfitters, earrings – kate spade, watch & bangle – asos, necklace – vintage

Sometimes an ensemble looks best without too much extra and other times it begs for accessories. This was one of those times. I love any excuse to utilize my rose gold and am always clamoring for more. All in all, a quintessential spring look.

What I Wore: Menswear, Leopard & Nautical – Oh my!

what I wore: trench – marvin richards, trousers – ralph lauren (seen here, here), blouse – old navy, bowtie – little boy’s at target, necklace – kate spade, platforms – steve madden, jewels – gifts, vintage, charm & chain, bcbg

This outfit is the result of having entirely too much time to get ready. Yesterday morning I woke up at 4am and could not go back to sleep (rare occurrence). So I got up, showered and spent two hours leisurely getting ready, as there was nothing else to do. I like this outfit even though it’s a lot going on. I find that I like looks that either say a lot or say next to nothing. Sometimes you need 2 necklaces, 3 bangles and 6 rings to feel dressed, sometimes it feels like the fewer the better. I’ve been wearing a lot of blue lately. I think it’s nice to do a really feminine hair style with such a tailored look. I’m really excited about an upcoming collaboration. More details soon!

The Collar Stands Alone

I have loved the detachable collar for a while now. Thankfully, it’s become something of a trend so you can find them at a variety of price ranges. It’s wearable art! This particular type of jewelry is a statement. It can be worn with the simplest of ensembles to take them up a notch. Which one is your favorite?

What I Wore: Lucky Charms

(what i wore: top – target, trousers – new york & co, bangle & shorter necklace – my grandma’s, cuff/long necklace/earrings/2 rings – forever21, first finger ring – banana republic, charm bracelet – a gift given me when I was very small)
I think that jewelry has a higher power. Whether it’s because of the story behind it, where you were when you found it, who gave it to you or how it makes you feel when you wear it. Occasionally, I like to make an outfit all about the accessories.
