Don’t flowers just make the day better?

Flowers make me feel girly and feminine and free. Plus they’re prettier and have less fat than cupcakes. On a girly note, this is my theme song today.

How about flower/fruit ice cubes? Tres chic.

Running on Empty + Barcart Bliss

Between packing, moving, lease-signing and dieting as well as packing/moving boyfriend. I’ve managed to fit in my real job, a little daydreaming and the sporadic wish-list update for the new place. Last night, after I stripped my entire bathroom down, organized and filled two tall kitchen bags with trash…I was beat. Unfortunately, my mind didn’t exactly follow suite. I got about two hours of sleep (and a 3am bath). Needless to say, my wagon is dragging. But it’s still a super exciting time and the weekend is swiftly approaching.

PS: I got my dream bar cart yesterday at a lovely vintage mall that I’ve never been into before (why?). It’s called The Flying Dog and they have some really interesting and fun things. Umm bar cart was $35, I felt like I was robbing them! I also got a vintage cream croc clutch for $5. Below – the bar cart – in all it’s glory (in the store). It’s black, it has wheels and it folds.

Best of the best

I have to brag. I’m feeling like a proud mother hen today. Two of my best gal-pals are taking the bar tomorrow. One of my friends just got the job she’s been holding out for for six months, another friend finally found work in the industry she wants to be in. One of our other friends works weekends just to do what she loves. They are all beautiful and talented and have sweet, loving hearts. It’s such a blissful thing to see the people you love succeed.

A Holiday

We booked a trip to the beach! My first holiday with my wonderful beau. I can’t wait to put my feet in the sand. Much to come about outfit preparation…

For now, I’m just giddy and smiling about a week off and lots of sun/kisses/relaxation.

Below is where we are going!

Monday, Monday…so good to me.

Twas a good weekend. My life change that I alluded to a couple of weeks ago was actually just a diet and a move. I sat through a wedding and didn’t eat a thing (cake is my weakness). I’ve lost 10lbs! I found a new house right downtown that is accepting of my puppies, plus it’s adorable.

I’m going to see Inception tonight. My beau and I are probably going to go on vacation. I’m feeling super lucky and excited. Hope your week started off real nice.

Kinda want balayage highlights. Thoughts?

Overwhelmed!

This weekend, as wonderful as it was, was not enough to fully energize me for this week of work, changes, responsibilities.

Today, I’m listening to NPR’s best songs of 2010 thus far…

Wonderful Weekend

Looking forward to a lovely weekend. We’re going to another wedding (in Memphis, this time) and I’m craving time at home but I’m looking forward to dressing up, dining out, dancing and cool, crisp air-conditioning.

I got a romper yesterday! It’s the first one I’ve actually been able to purchase/wear. I’ve always loved the idea of a romper but have not been able to find the right fit. Thankfully, Target has given me an excuse to use the word “playsuit”.

Pregnant Pause

(via loseyoursel-f, rebelqueen-)

This is too hysterical not to share. Last night, Robert and I went to Theo’s with my mom and her beau. The evening was nice but after we left, I realized I’d forgotten my cell phone. I freaked. I called mom to see if she was still there. She wasn’t. I called the bar and luckily they had it. I drove back to retrieve my precious iPhone. The bartender even asked me a security question (what is your background picture?) to make sure it didn’t fall into the wrong hands. I greatly appreciated that…

I got back into the car, beloved phone in hand. I opened my text messages. I gaped in horror. Whomever found my phone and graciously turned it in, had also pulled a little prank…

I immediately called my mom. She had been duped! I had to talk her OFF THE LEDGE. I even had to convince her that  I really didn’t send “the text”. Apparently, she didn’t put two and two together when I told her I thought I lost my phone…only minutes before she got “the text”. In shock, she showed “the text” to her man-friend and they proceeded to have a conversation about it. It went something like this:

“Is this for real?”, she gasped.

“It isn’t something she would joke about, right?”, he answered.

“Why would she send that to me in a text,” she wondered.

“She’s probably embarrassed and scared,” he replied.

“All we can do now is celebrate and be happy for her,” he suggested.

“This is such shock,” she mused.

Well, much to her relief and to the stranger’s presumed glee…it was all a pregnant prank. I have to admit, it was a pretty ballsy/hilarious thing to do…to someone else of course.
