This dress has been around the block, as is the case with all good vintage. I first saw it in the window at Mae’s, (I was truly window shopping!) then my friend Angela wore it beautifully to a wedding (here) earlier this summer. A few weeks ago, my mom surprised me with it after my friends at Cheap Thrills told her I had my eye on it. I’d been saving it for a special occasion and our 1st anniversary was just that.
With similarities to the extreme couponer, the bargain shopper is always on the hunt for the absolute best find at the lowest possible price. Believe it or not this dress – complete with the adorable cinched waist, strong shoulders and open back – was $3.

This is one of the first dresses I bought from Grey Dog and it’s still a favorite. I typically wear it on St. Patty’s but also like to bring it out other times. Wearing green makes me feel lucky for some reason. The (gigantic) hair was a bit of an accident. I put leave-in conditioner on dry hair and put it up before I went to sleep. When I took it down this in the morning, I put it in hot rollers.
