From the Weekend

It was quite an eventful weekend. We got a cake sample for our wedding cake and it tasted as good as it looks. .
A new and exciting sponsorship opportunity from BeBop Clothing. I got some goodies in on Friday and couldn’t wait to try them on – more to come!
Karaoke with Ro, my brother Hampton & his brother William. I couldn’t stop myself from singing “Alone” by Heart but regretted it later…
Ro’s mom came up bearing gifts! Including the below four poster bed frame for our room & a dining table. I’m obsessed.
Some sweet friends threw a stock the bar party for us and it was incredibly lovely. Here’s a picture with my mom. (dress – vintage from the grey dog)

Spoils from the stock the bar. Planning this wedding has certainly shown me how many people love us. I feel very special.

I hope you had a lovely weekend!

What I Wore: Go-To Outfit

(what i wore: dress – max & cleo, heels – forever21)
Whenever I want to look nice for work, a wedding, a party, etc and I don’t feel like trying to figure out an outfit, I have a go-to. This particular dress can be dressed up or down and can even be paired with tights in the winter.  Everyone needs a go-to dress for random occasions that call for dressy, flattering and easy.

What I Wore: Back in Black

(What I Wore: dress – olive and oak, belt – vintage, stripper heels – qupid, glasses – shop ultra, bracelets – shop ultra, forever21, charm & chain, earrings – charm & chain)
Black is really my favorite color to wear. Black and/or white actually. I love that you can accessorize with anything when dealing with a blank pallet. PS: I got the black beaded bracelets stuck on my upper arm – that was cute.

What I Wore: Oldies but Goodies

(What I Wore: top – old navy, skirt – dina bee/thrifted, cut-out wedges – nine west)
Yesterday I busted out some old stuff that I had never worn together. I thought it turned out nicely.  I’ll take any excuse to wear my Nine West cut-out white wedges, they’re like 5 years old! I hope you have a great weekend!

My Early Fashions

While I was in Hot Springs this weekend, I unearthed a stash of pictures from long ago. Even at three I loved to accessorize. It was wonderful to look through these, it brought back lovely  memories and reminded me that I’ve always enjoyed dressing. Sometimes the past can lead you into your future in unexpected ways.

xo various outfits from ages 2 to 7

What I Wore: Mellow Yellow

(What I Wore: blouse – cheap thrills, pants – old navy, platforms – bcbg girls, watch – bcbg, left hand ring – cheap thrills, right hand rings l to r – walmart/banana republic/vintage, bracelets – house of harlow from charm & chain/vintage/New Orleans flea market, necklaces – hook: kenneth jay lane, fish locket: tuleste market from charm & chain, earrings – gift from Ro: Kenneth Jay Lane via charm & chain)
Yesterday was one of those days where I felt like piling on all the jewelry I own. My beloved engagement ring is at the fabulous Lauray’s in Hot Springs, AR having it’s matching band created (an omg I’m getting married moment). Of course I had to pick up a bauble to replace it for the time being and decided to play with all the gold pieces I have been neglecting in favor of the simplicity of my diamond.
I also opted to pile my hair up. The big bun that I love is simple to do (instructions here) but the topknot is almost too easy. And I’m obsessed with these pants. I have them in yellow, white, khaki and brown; they are best when paired with a blousy top. They make your legs look ridiculously long because they’re so wide-leg and cover your shoes.

What I Wore: Muted

(What I Wore: Earrings – ?, Jumper – Vintage Maternity cutoff, Blouse – Silence and Noise, Belt – Old Navy, Croc booties – Gianni Bini)
Last week I busted out my cut off maternity jumper, paired it with some fiery orange feather earrings and this was the result.

Outfit: Flower Child

skirt – vintage from Daisy Exchange, white tee – hanes, belt – vintage, platforms – BCBG, right hand ring – mom

I found this delightful vintage skirt at the Daisy Exchange in Fayetteville. This is a perfect example of why I like shopping there. It was $4. No offense, but the people that run the place have no idea how to price quality vintage items. The same skirt at cheap thrills would have been at least $20, which still would have been reasonable. It wraps around and clips in the back, it’s extra long and it also has pockets!

Outfit: Rock the Runway

top – vintage from Potter’s house thrift, pants – old navy, booties – Vince Camuto, belt – Target, lips – Cover Girl Lip Perfection in Flame, necklace – vintage, watch – BCBG,

Last week, I had the opportunity to speak at Rock the Runway representing Cover Girl (we donated the make-up for the event). It was really fun and I was honored to be included.

Here I am on the runway…

I had to include a shot with my sweetheart!
