My Wedding: All the Details

Here they are! All my wedding pictures. I honestly can’t believe it was four months ago. It was the most incredible experience, made possible by an incredibly wonderful man and many, many precious friends and relatives. Contact me at prettypayblog@gmail if you have  questions about vendors. xo
WHAT I WORE: My earrings and bracelet were antique Mikimoto pearls borrowed from my new mother in law. My engagement ring is a family heirloom that belonged to Robert’s great-grandmother. My wedding ring was created to match by Mark Fleischner from Lauray’s in Hot Springs. Robert’s ring is also from Lauray’s. floral wreath and bridal bouquet by Flora, wedding dress by Le Spose di Gio via Kleinfeld’s, rehearsal dinner/after wedding dress was vintage Laurence Kazar via ebay, platforms – Jeffrey Campbell via Solestruck, Alterations by Anita Turzi, Makeup: Kory Simpson, Hair: Brittany Castleberry from Teazed
EVERYTHING ELSE: my bridesmaids chose their own dresses in shades of white or cream, photography by Mallory Berry, tuxedos – Jos A. Bank, polka dot bow ties by The Tie Bar, invitations by So Inviting, Ceremony music: Quintet from the Fayetteville Jazz Collective, Reception Band: Big John Miller Band, Rentals: Eventures, Catering: Jim & Mary Cope/ Susie Stevens of Nibbles, Alcohol: Andy Plemmons from Crossover Liquor, Cake: The cake lady, Officiant – Robert Ginsburg,  Rehearsal Dinner:  Ella’s at Carnall Hall, Bridal Luncheon: Café Rue Orleans, Décor/Flowers: Susan Wright, Transportation from parking area: Jim’s Shuttle Express, Restroom Trailer: Arkansas Portable’s NW, Videographer: Abigail Jeppsen, Day of Wedding Coordinator: Tammy York of Gatsby’s Event Management

What I Wore: The Blues

(what i wore: dress – vintage from cheap thrills, heels – bakers, brooch – vintage, earrings – birthday gift)
Yesterday I wore one of  those dresses that make you almost giddy and you kindof wish you could wear it everyday. I call them “cartoon dresses” because they become contenders for what you would want to be wearing if you were animated and forced by the confines of some illustrated sitcom to wear the same thing everyday (sorry if I sound a little crazy, I’m getting married in 10 days!).
I love it so much but it is vintage and slightly fragile so shapewear must be worn in the event that a button flies, the last thing I need is a boob slip at work…

Big Day Beauty

I hadn’t thought much about it until recently, but how do I want my makeup for the wedding? I want to look like myself – just enhanced but I also want to look fab in pictures. Do you go for understated or statement? I need your help, sweet readers and friends! I won’t share my dress but I will say that it’s white, it’s not strapless and I’m wearing flowers in my hair with minimal jewelry and the hair back. Let me know what you think is most appropriate! Here I am as a point of reference ;)

1. This first picture below is the look I’m leaning toward: defined brows, winged liner, pretty lashes and a peach lip. What do you think? Do you like the slight cat eye?
2. More shadow, less lip…
3. You could go a little farther with the eyeliner for this…
4. Golder shadow and a paler lip…
5. More shadow, more makeup. I love this look but is it overly sexy?
6. A lot more shadow and liner – verging on costume vs wedding…
7. Lots of lip, lots of liner, less of everything else
8. More shadow, less liner…
9. Less liner, more lip…
10. Very Natural…

Happy (Birthday) Weekend

My birthday is Sunday. It’s a considerably more low key milestone this year in light of the HUGE event that’s happening in two weeks. I am in disbelief as I sit here writing “in two weeks”. I’ve been planning this wedding excitedly but also somewhere in the back of my mind thinking it would never come to fruition – sortof like my 16th & 21st birthdays or college graduation. And yet, it swiftly approaches and I’m starting to have freak outs about how many loved ones I get to see & celebrate with.

So, I’m hoping for a chill weekend. My almost-husband is taking me to dinner tonight. We’re going to the pool tomorrow and I’m sure I’ll throw in some thank-you note writing.

Fondly wishing you a very pleasing August weekend.

What I Wore: Black & Blue

(what i wore: dress – thrifted, peep toe booties – forever21, sunnies that are both round & cateye – ebay)
Oh hello. I was feeling blue yesterday because I’ve given up hope of staying sweat-free on my wedding day. At least everyone will be dripping wet when it’s 105 degrees at 8pm. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best!!!
People might mistake my tears for sweat beads if I get a little emo (….I got a good man, anything could happen when someone tells me I get to keep him forevs). I hit a weight loss goal so the slightly gigantic hair is in honor of that. Or something. And yes. I am wearing sunglasses in the bathroom just because I wanted to show them off. I also couldn’t get anyone to go outside long enough to take a picture of me in a more sunglass-appropriate sitch.
It is THAT HOT.

ONE MONTH TO GO

I’m slightly freaking out. Our wedding is officially one month away! I would be lying if I said I wasn’t stressed. I AM. I had no idea how many details there would be. But, I have to say I am more ecstatic than I am stressed. Granted things will go wrong, but I get to be with the sweetest guy I’ve ever met, everyone I love is coming to celebrate and then it’s off to the beach. What could be better?

What I Wore: Prim & Proper

(what i wore: dress – forever21, pumps – forever21, rings – forever21, necklace – mom’s, earrings – kate spade)
I didn’t realize until I began this post that everything I’m wearing (save the earrings/necklace) is from Forever. Either way, F21 is a great place to experiment without spending a lot of money. The earrings  were a gift from my dear friend who just started working for Kate Spade. Of course, the high bun is an old standby and I loved pairing a double finger ring with another single ring. Speaking of rings, Ro’s wedding ring came in yesterday. Sh*t is getting real! Can’t wait!

From the Weekend

It was quite an eventful weekend. We got a cake sample for our wedding cake and it tasted as good as it looks. .
A new and exciting sponsorship opportunity from BeBop Clothing. I got some goodies in on Friday and couldn’t wait to try them on – more to come!
Karaoke with Ro, my brother Hampton & his brother William. I couldn’t stop myself from singing “Alone” by Heart but regretted it later…
Ro’s mom came up bearing gifts! Including the below four poster bed frame for our room & a dining table. I’m obsessed.
Some sweet friends threw a stock the bar party for us and it was incredibly lovely. Here’s a picture with my mom. (dress – vintage from the grey dog)

Spoils from the stock the bar. Planning this wedding has certainly shown me how many people love us. I feel very special.

I hope you had a lovely weekend!

Heidi Klum’s Lifestyle Site

Miranda and Me

Heidi K has launched a lifestyle website for AOL among the many other things she’s involved in. She does things like a summer run challenge (running with different super models: Miranda Kerr, Coco Rocha et al) and daily outfit postings. The Cut calls it 1/2 Goop, 1/2 Oprah and I think she’s likable so I’m not too judgmental.
PS: I ran yesterday and it was a pathetic, pitiful sight. Maybe I need to run behind Miranda Kerr to get me motivated.

Let them eat cake

Yes it’s seven weeks before the wedding and no I hadn’t even thought about the cake until recently. It’s not that I don’t love cake, believe me…I do. I just had left it out and waited until I knew how the budget was going to shake out. Anyway, in one of those serendipitous happenings that you always wish for when planning an event, I found a baker in my price range and we made a deal.
Here are my inspirations.
