This shoulder-padded, floral, paisley, draped, harem concoction was around $3. So, you know, I was all over that.

what I wore: dress – french connection (thrifted), heels – quipid, glasses – shop ultra, watch – bcbg, bangles – vintage & dannijo, nails – revlon
Glasses are one of those accessories that can completely change your look. These are my favorite frames from Shop Ultra, I immediately feel smarter (and chicer).

What I Wore: Mellow Yellow

(What I Wore: blouse – cheap thrills, pants – old navy, platforms – bcbg girls, watch – bcbg, left hand ring – cheap thrills, right hand rings l to r – walmart/banana republic/vintage, bracelets – house of harlow from charm & chain/vintage/New Orleans flea market, necklaces – hook: kenneth jay lane, fish locket: tuleste market from charm & chain, earrings – gift from Ro: Kenneth Jay Lane via charm & chain)
Yesterday was one of those days where I felt like piling on all the jewelry I own. My beloved engagement ring is at the fabulous Lauray’s in Hot Springs, AR having it’s matching band created (an omg I’m getting married moment). Of course I had to pick up a bauble to replace it for the time being and decided to play with all the gold pieces I have been neglecting in favor of the simplicity of my diamond.
I also opted to pile my hair up. The big bun that I love is simple to do (instructions here) but the topknot is almost too easy. And I’m obsessed with these pants. I have them in yellow, white, khaki and brown; they are best when paired with a blousy top. They make your legs look ridiculously long because they’re so wide-leg and cover your shoes.

Bangles: Inspiration and DIY

I love bangles. They can dress up a no-frills outfit or add intricacy to to layers. It’s a great way to mix old and new or high and low. Here is Caroline Trentini looking gorgeous in hers in the June 2009 Numero. Scroll down for DIY suggestions. PS: They make chic gifts for girlfriends!

Favorite Bangle Combo

Thanks to all who have been thinking of Birdie. She’s not worse, so we’re taking that as a good sign.

I wanted to share my favorite bangle combo of the moment. I’m wearing them today and have been for the past few weeks. The three green/gold bracelets are from a street vendor in San Francisco (@ Haight & Ashbury – had to), the watch is BCBG, bought on sale at Dillards two Christmases ago.

The studded gold bangle is a recent purchase from my fave Charm&Chain and I think they compliment each other so nicely that I’ve been wearing nothing but gold for a week.

My bf got me this cutie fortune cookie necklace from Charm and Chain and I’ve worn it everyday since I got it, with my bangles…of course.
