Honeymoon Edition: Roma

Rome was our last destination and I must admit we were really tired by the time we arrived. But, we couldn’t go to Italy without experiencing some history! Above we are on the train from Naples to Rome.

A hilarious oops

Ro was the tallest man for miles until we met a couple from Holland. The guy was easily 7’1″
I gained 7lbs in pizza ALONE

Below in Campo di Fiori, which is a great place for nightlife and used to be a spot for beheadings!
I can’t believe it’s over! Definitely the trip of a lifetime!

(WHAT I WORE: red/black dress – maude shoppe, sandals – impressions, black front snap bra – vintage, just married necklace – kate spade / blue dress – vintage, sneakers – converse/ white tank – old navy, skirt – american apparel/ jeans – seven, linen button down borrowed from ro – banana republic, sunglasses – vintage ray ban)

Honeymoon Edition: Positano

Positano was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever imagined. The cliffside villas, the clear water, the pebble beach. Everyone was incredibly friendly and I brushed up on my college Italian. It felt like we were in the middle of a postcard and it almost makes me sad to look at the pictures because it was such a lovely time. We ate gobs of pizza and gelati. We sat in the sun and slept in late. We walked the narrow streets – Positano centers around one beach and our hotel (Buca di Bacco) was on it. There are roads that take you all the way down but 200 yards from the beach they become too narrow for cars. We had to walk the rest of the way down and have our bags portered.
Our room opened up onto a balcony and we had two chairs so we could sit and people-watch.

Our hotel. The yellow building with two rows of windows was ours.

MUCH ADO ABOUT EVERYTHING

I’m finally back to posting after the wedding/honeymoon extravaganza! I wanted to share a few pictures and will hopefully have much more soon!

What I Wore: 70’s Inspired

(what i wore: trousers – new york & co, blouse – vintage from potter’s house, belt – vintage from the grey dog, rings – forever21, earrings – a birthday gift from my soon to be husband)
Yesterday I wore these cream high waist pants with an ivory blouse. I love this look because it’s sophisticated but still shows off curves.

What I Wore: Lucky Charms

(what i wore: top – target, trousers – new york & co, bangle & shorter necklace – my grandma’s, cuff/long necklace/earrings/2 rings – forever21, first finger ring – banana republic, charm bracelet – a gift given me when I was very small)
I think that jewelry has a higher power. Whether it’s because of the story behind it, where you were when you found it, who gave it to you or how it makes you feel when you wear it. Occasionally, I like to make an outfit all about the accessories.

Why Don’t We…

Take a jump outside the sartorial box and wear something that just really makes us happy.

Who knows, it could turn out like this, which I believe to be perfection.

Black lace, expertly placed skin, ruffles and sparkles. I’m entranced by this voluptuous editorial.

Looking Forward to Fall

Ok. Officially. It is too hot. I’ve given up hope that it will ever cool down. I’m thinking we will have to bring sweats and leggings to Italy where the high is a balmy 82 and the low is a frigid 60. If fall ever comes, here are a few things I look forward to wearing.

Fall Shoe Lusting

This fall I’m going to be all about loafers and platforms. And I have a penchant for blues if you couldn’t tell…
