What I Wore: Outfit Photo Shoot – Vintage DKNY

what I wore: bodysuit – vintage dkny, skirt – h&m, platforms – forever21, makeup by mollie booth, photos by mallory berry, styling by the window shopper

There are two days left to win vintage! Click here to enter! I’ve had this DKNY bodysuit for a while and have always wanted to wear it. I thought it was perfect for our photo shoot.

What I Wore: Outfit Photo Shoot – Black Crochet

what I wore: black sweater – arden b, black skirt – unlabeled vintage from potter’s house, bow belt – maude, croc heels – quipid, earrings – borrowed from my mom’s collection, makeup by Mollie Booth, photography by Mallory Berry, styling by The Window Shopper
This is another outfit from my 1000th post photo shoot with Mallory Berry. Don’t forget about the vintage giveaway here!

What I Wore: Black on Black

what I wore: dress – tj maxx, jacket – bcbg, heels – gianni bini, glasses – shop ultra, watch – bcbg, bangle – kate spade, earrings – forever 21

This outfit was a random idea I had before going to bed the night before. I thought – why don’t I tie a sash around the neck of a button down top or dress? So, I did and for once, it worked!

What I Wore: 80’s Revival

what I wore: dress – vintage maggy london via cheap thrills, belt – old from Maude, heels – gianni bini

I love the shoulder detail on this funky/fun little dress I found at Cheap Thrills recently. Without the belt, the dress morphs into 80s-extreme!

What I Wore: A Few Basics

what I wore: knit/heels – forever 21, skirt – ann taylor, jewelry – vintage
Basic animal print knit, basic black skirt and basic black heels. I love all three of these items and I felt cool in this outfit. Leopard & Black is such an easy combo which also feels current. It always inspires me to go heavy on the black eyeliner. The exposed zipper on the skirt (which I cleverly tried to showcase) makes it a little more than just a basic. Looking back, the skirt/heel combo had a bit of a weird Christina-Aguilera-Legs thing going on. That could just be because of the strange circumstances in which I find myself taking photos (read – need a photographer).

What I Wore: Back Attack

what I wore: skirt – vintage from potter’s house, knit – dkny, heels – forever21, bracelets – family heirloom and evil eye from charm & chain, rings – all gifts, earrings & necklace – kate spade
I wore this semi-low cut knit backwards and loved the effect.

What I Wore: THE Skirt

what I wore: skirt – vintage from NOLA, heels – quipid, blouse – bcbg, shirt – hanes, sweater – express, love knot – vintage
This skirt was the first vintage item I purchased after I arrived in New Orleans for college. I don’t remember the name of the shop but it was uptown, pretty close to JacquesImo’s. The ladies working in there sad and chain-smoked while you browsed.  It will always be a favorite. The skirt is so fun with it’s high fifties waist and has a wonderful length that can be dressed way up or down. Side note: there are two different tops in these ensembles, that’s because I had a little incident with my puppy involving mud and changed at lunch.

What I Wore: A Favorite Dress

what I wore: dress – a favorite find from grey dog, tights – target, heels & earrings – forever 21
I was so excited to find this dress at Grey Dog. I know the feather earrings might be out, in fact I was never really into the trend but these work so perfectly with the colors, it was a must. I love this sweet dress so much for it’s versatility. I’ve already worn it with boots and knee-high socks, now with tights and heels and I know I’ll pull it out in warmer weather with a strappy sandal.

What I Wore: Velvet & Taffeta

what I wore: dress – vintage via trendy mindy’s, tights – target, platforms – forever21, earrings – purchased in mexico, ring – family heirloom
Ooops Christmas came late. I just couldn’t help it with this. I felt a bit Samantha, the American Doll does Holiday in 1992 but whatever. Getting dressed is still about playing dress-up, is it not?

What I Wore: Suspenders

what I wore: blouse & suspenders – vintage from potter’s house, trousers – new york & co, croc heels – gianni bini (also seen here)
I was super into this ensemble until several employees of Forever21 told me they liked my outfit. While I obviously buy from there, I never want to look like the store threw up on me. My general consensus was to take the compliment and move along. Because, I have always found that graciously accepting a compliment is the best way to react. No one wants to hear you mouth off about how terrible you think you look because a) you either mean it or b) you don’t and both are sad.
Sorry…I’ve completely digressed. I’ve included a picture of my beautiful Bird. She turned 2 last week.
