What I Wore: Transitional

(what i wore: glasses – shop ultra, tunic – forever21, jeans – levi, wedges – qupid)
Not sure why I’m wearing transitional outfits when it’s hot as an inferno outside. However, it’s very difficult to dress for being in air conditioning all day. Sometimes it feels so frigid inside, you’re uncomfortable wearing sleeveless. So, I wore this Friday and felt great all day inside my office. As soon as I stepped outside I thought I was going to stroke out. Nonetheless, I can’t wait to revisit it for fall.

60s Inspired Bangs

After an inner conversation with myself, I decided a hair chop is not something I am ready to do. Ro concurs. So I’ve become enthralled with the idea of cutting 60s-inspired bangs like Julia Stegner’s post wedding. Like?

Taking the Pixie Plunge

I have always, always wanted to chop ALL my hair off. I have never come close to actually doing it but it remains in my list of things I ‘have to do’. So who’s transformation is the best? I’m a big fan of Michelle Williams’ short hair but not quite as short as below. Et tu?

What I Wore: Back in Black

(What I Wore: dress – olive and oak, belt – vintage, stripper heels – qupid, glasses – shop ultra, bracelets – shop ultra, forever21, charm & chain, earrings – charm & chain)
Black is really my favorite color to wear. Black and/or white actually. I love that you can accessorize with anything when dealing with a blank pallet. PS: I got the black beaded bracelets stuck on my upper arm – that was cute.

Doesn’t this crack you up?

Or am I alone here? We all knew how good Kate would look in jeans but just the whole visual of them in rodeo gear makes me laugh. Check out the full gallery at the fug girls.

Summer Work Wear

I love these outfits for inspiration when the days are oh-so long and hot and you’d so rather be at the pool than in the office.

Summer of Rock

For some reason, it doesn’t bother me that Erin Wasson is completely typecast as the free-spirited hippy rocker. She wears it well.

Maria Dueñas Jacobs Roman Wedding

Maria Dueñas Jacobs
Maria Dueñas Jacobs is the accessories editor at Glamour Magazine. She was featured on Into the Gloss this week and I was immediately drawn to her natural look and easy beauty routine. A quick google took me to her wedding which was featured on Martha Stewart’s website. So, duh, I had to share.

What I Wore: Mellow Yellow

(What I Wore: blouse – cheap thrills, pants – old navy, platforms – bcbg girls, watch – bcbg, left hand ring – cheap thrills, right hand rings l to r – walmart/banana republic/vintage, bracelets – house of harlow from charm & chain/vintage/New Orleans flea market, necklaces – hook: kenneth jay lane, fish locket: tuleste market from charm & chain, earrings – gift from Ro: Kenneth Jay Lane via charm & chain)
Yesterday was one of those days where I felt like piling on all the jewelry I own. My beloved engagement ring is at the fabulous Lauray’s in Hot Springs, AR having it’s matching band created (an omg I’m getting married moment). Of course I had to pick up a bauble to replace it for the time being and decided to play with all the gold pieces I have been neglecting in favor of the simplicity of my diamond.
I also opted to pile my hair up. The big bun that I love is simple to do (instructions here) but the topknot is almost too easy. And I’m obsessed with these pants. I have them in yellow, white, khaki and brown; they are best when paired with a blousy top. They make your legs look ridiculously long because they’re so wide-leg and cover your shoes.
