What I Wore: A Favorite LBD

what I wore: dress – vintage/handmade by a seamstress’ union via cheap thrills, platforms – target, earrings – in retrospect

My uncle turned 60 this past weekend and we all congregated in Little Rock to fete him. This is one of my all-time favorite dresses. I feel like it’s the quintessential LBD – versatile, flattering & simple. Below, I’m with Ro & my brothers.

What I Wore: Anniversary Dinner

what I wore: dress – vintage via cheap thrills, heels – steve madden

This dress has been around the block, as is the case with all good vintage. I first saw it in the window at Mae’s, (I was truly window shopping!) then my friend Angela wore it beautifully to a wedding (here) earlier this summer. A few weeks ago, my mom surprised me with it after my friends at Cheap Thrills told her I had my eye on it. I’d been saving it for a special occasion and our 1st anniversary was just that.

What I Wore: Birthday Dinner

what I wore: dress – vintage via grey dog, heels – forever21, earrings/ear cuff – claire’s

I love everything about this fun 90s dress, especially the back, so it was the perfect choice for a Tuesday evening birthday dinner.

What I Wore: Birthday Suite

what I wore: dress – $10 rack vintage via grey dog, heels – kelsi dagger, earrings – vintage

Yesterday was my birthday and I thought this peplum dress in a minty teal was perfect for a day at the office where I still wanted to feel special.

From the Weekend

Beaver Lake

Long weekends are always wonderful. We went to the lake, out to dinner, to the pool and farmer’s market. It finally feels like summer!

Happy Mardi Gras

Me on the right, 2007

Every year during carnival season, I wonder (more than usual) why I ever left New Orleans. The city is really so different than any other place in the country. Once you fall in love, you start a life-long affair with the place. Who couldn’t love a city that shuts down for a party?
So, although it’s just another Tuesday in Fayetteville, I’m wishing everyone a happy mardi gras! Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Mardi Gras 2006

Birthday!

Tomorrow is my brand new hubby’s birthday. We took the day off to celebrate (as if we really needed an occasion). Isn’t it so much fun to make merry and be carefree and just bask in happiness? Yeah the answer is yes.
I hope you’re celebrating something, anything this weekend!

Plans for the Weekend

This weekend will be filled with sun, entertaining, celebrating, dinner reservations, errands and hopefully (as always) romance.

Magazine Street.

I love this! It’s from the May/June 2011 issue of Lonny and there is a whole New Orleans section (pointed out to me by the dear Tina from Sweet on Design). This makes me super excited because I’m heading down there on Friday for my bachelorette party! I cannot wait. Check out the newest issue of Lonny and Magazine Street, next time you’re in the Big Easy…
