“Boys and girls in America have such a sad time together; sophistication demands that they submit to sex immediately without proper preliminary talk. Not courting talk- real straight talk about souls, for life is holy and every moment is precious.” — Jack Kerouac On the Road

OMG I could hardly recognize Emma Stone at the Golden Globes. I didn’t realize how long and lean she was. Has she lost a ton of weight? I also really liked her as a blonde. Also, those of you who read this blog often know how partial I am to an open back. Lovely. I’m very much looking forward to seeing her performance in “The Help” as well.

I’ve had serious affection for Gemma since I saw her in the BBC production of Tess of the D’Urbervilles. I think she’s lovely and I agree with most of her style choices. She also has a versatile look.

The fug girls (please please please go check them out) have dubbed J. Simps as one of the “worst dressed celebs of all time”. And although I initially balked, because she has made some good choices, I have to agree when presented with the array of ammunition. Cases in points…

My favorite quote from the fug girls about J. Simps is as follows, “HONEY. How many times do we have to talk about this? You have to buy the actual size that you ACTUALLY WEAR. NO ONE will know what that size is. NO ONE! Instead, they will just stop thinking things like, “Jessica Simpson’s dress is too small. It’s not very flattering on her. That poor girl. Why doesn’t anyone help her out? All the unfortunate outfits and the bad boyfriends…it’s like no one cares. I’m sad now. I wonder where I put that plate of potato salad.” Do you really want random strangers on the internets worrying that your friends don’t care while misplacing deli salads? Do you want that? I can’t imagine you want that. What you do want — if you haven’t figured it out on your own — is someone in your life who will grab you and say, “Don’t wear that, and stop twittering Tony Romo! You can do better in both categories.” Ashlee’s unemployed! Put her on the job.”

I’m a fan of Emma Watson’s. She seems to have a good head on her shoulders and has grown up to be lovely young woman. Plus I love the pixie cut. If I were contractually obligated not to cut my hair, I’d probably chop it too.

Emily Schuman of Cupcakes and Cashmere attended the Calvin Klein Beauty launch. There, the beautiful Diane Kruger (one of my beauty and style icons) told the crowd that she wears CoverGirl concealer! It warms the cockles of my heart to hear that.
