The Matchbook Girl

I am very intrigued by the idea of online magazines. First Lonny then Rue and now High Gloss and Matchbook. A few of my favorite bloggers have banded together to publish online. I LOVE that you can actually click on the things you love and go straight to them through the interwebs. And while I will always love physically holding and reading and keeping a favorite magazine, the online versions are very new and fun.

I very much enjoyed reading through Matchbook and I loved the “type of girl”they are reaching out to, I encourage you to look through any and all of them!

A Dreamy Wall of Shoes

My husband is an architect, and when we moved into our apartment my one request was to have a wall for my shoes. He designed it as individual cubbies, so it feels more like a display case for little works of art than a storage unit. The only problem is, I've already outgrown it!Shoes, Various Designers

When I moved into my new house, this is exactly what I had in mind. Instead, I got this:

(Why, yes…it is slanted)

Not quite the same…but you get the idea. I’m hoping in the next house I will get more of a shoe wall like Jane Keltner De Valle’s via The Coveted. More below…

I’m lucky enough to be able to borrow dresses from designers for most events, so I actually don’t own a lot of formal dresses. But these are two exceptions to the rule. You can’t go wrong with a Lanvin or Chanel dress!Dresses, Lanvin, fall 2004; ChanelThis is from the good old days when Chanel used to have sample sales!! I was an intern at W Magazine when I bought it. It’s still as chic today as it was then. There's something so special about a Chanel dress. It's the kind of piece you pass on to the next generation!Dress, ChanelThis is from one of Thakoon’s early collections, but I would still wear it today. I love that even though it’s a floor-length dress, there’s a certain cool ease to it. The lightness of the fabric and the side cutouts, together with the abstracted diamond print, give it a completely fresh, modern feel.Dress, Thakoon spring 2006

Pleasing Pink Decor

When most think of utilizing pink in home decor, they gravitate toward images of something concocted by strawberry shortcake meets Miss Piggy meets fairy princess. That’s not always the case. While it does tend to indicate a feminine touch and is not necessarily right for an entire color scheme, when done right it can be breathtakingly lovely. I love the fabulous girliness of a pink couch or pink wall. I’m not sure Ro would go for the mirrored bed covered in lush blush but he might be amenable to a few touches here and there.

The more I look at these rooms laced with pink, the more I love it. Most of these lovely images were found via {this is glamorous} which I must say is my very favorite blog out there.

The Home of Lauren Santo Domingo

Vogue Gallery

I’m not a “fan” of Lauren Santo Domingo or LSD as she likes to refer to herself. I’m not sure why she’s so popular with the media or the fashion crowd. I do, however, have to give credit where credit is due and she does always look chic. Here is a glimpse inside her Manhattan apartment via Vogue. My favorite room is definitely the office/closet. I also love her hippo bar cart.

You can also check out the most-wanted items from her home here.

I would live here in a perfect world.

This family has managed to create my dream house, without ever having met me! Qualifier: I die for white interiors but I might tone down the crispity-crispness of the sitting room, especially. The outdoor shower sold me. Feast your eyes.
