My Wedding Inspirations

Today is April 27th. That means our wedding is exactly four months away. I hyperventilated a bit when I realized. In honor of that and of the royal wedding (of course) I thought I’d share some of my wedding inspirations. If Kate Middleton forsakes Queen Victoria’s jewels for flowers in her hair I will never forgive her.

The Palm Springs Getaway

I have not seen so much rain in a short time span as I’ve seen over the past week. I’m beginning to forget what the sun looked like. That is, until I saw this gorgeous photoshoot of a Palm Springs getaway.

My Outfit + Go-To Hair

Dress: Vintage, Sweater: BCBG, Pumps: Jessica Simpson, Sunglasses: Forever 21, Earrings: White’s Jewelry

Lately I have been totally into the high bun. It has always intimidated me a bit because I don’t like to rat my hair. But once I figured out how to do it, I can’t stop! It’s so easy and it can prolong a hair wash for 2-3 days! It also turns any outfit from humdrum to posh. The best tutorial I’ve found is from Beth Jones (here). Do you like these outfit posts or are they annoying?

Fabulous Prep

Oh look, here is the rest of his head :)

As the weather warms and the flowers bloom, I find myself attracted to preppy classics. There’s just something so fresh about clean lines and bright colors. I’m not going so far as to tie a sweater around my neck but I do have a certain fondness for madras and seersucker. I tend to veer towards the Jackie Kennedy or Kathryn Hepburn version of prep rather than Lilly Pulitzer. How about you?

When I woke up yesterday it was quite nippy. Frost on the windshield even! I said a little prayer for the sun to come out and by the afternoon it was 65 and sunny.

You Can Leave Your Hat On

No one loves a good hat party more than me. I probably have close to 30…problem? Tell it to the judge!
