I’m finally back to posting after the wedding/honeymoon extravaganza! I wanted to share a few pictures and will hopefully have much more soon!

Our first meal on the wedding day: chili dogs

While I was in Hot Springs this weekend, I unearthed a stash of pictures from long ago. Even at three I loved to accessorize. It was wonderful to look through these, it brought back lovely memories and reminded me that I’ve always enjoyed dressing. Sometimes the past can lead you into your future in unexpected ways. With all the craziness, sadness and unpredictability of our society today, it is evermore important to hold on to what’s real and valuable in our lives.
I hope something makes each and every one of you devastatingly happy this weekend.
I’ll be relaxing, celebrating a dear friend’s upcoming baby girl and continuing to nest in the new place.
My wedding dress comes in next Thursday, then it’s off to New Orleans for my bachelorette celebration with college friends. Don’t we all have so much to look forward to?

As of Friday morning (the same day I woke up at 4am to watch the royal wedding) there was nothing packed in either Robert’s or my house. As of today, we are living in the new house. So… a lot went down over the last few days. There was rain, there was 40 degree weather, there were floods and not everything is complete… BUT! we spent the night there last night! I cannot put into words the relief I feel today as I think about my new home with the guy I love and our little doggies. More to come about decorating and the like…

I hope you had a good weekend!
Tonight Ro is taking me to Dallas to visit with some friends/family. Or as we like to say – he’s whisking me away. I love being whisked. It’s just a short trip but it’s nice to get out of town. Plus we’re supposed to have beautiful weather so I’ll be packing beautiful clothes.

My mother and my future mother-in-law are very attractive ladies and at this early juncture, seem to love each other. They’ve been discussing together what to wear to our nuptials. They don’t want to dress alike but want to compliment each other. So many of the “mother of the bride” dress categories I see on sites like Dillards, Nordstorms and Macy’s are sooo not something that would make a MOB feel beautiful. I know that my mothers started dieting long before I did, so they will and they should look their best. And as an Southern girl knows, it’s their time to shine too. While I know they will unlikely be purchasing from Net-A-Porter, that site does such a lovely job of recommending styles that an actual beautiful mother of the bride would want to where. Therefore they are a good place to start for inspiration. A question I have for you, dear readers, can a MOB wear black?

Today I’m feeling especially grateful for the ins and outs of everyday life – the beautiful weather, my loved ones, my health. Tragedy hits us all in unexpectedly poignant ways. We never know when a routine experience can change our lives forever. It’s important to savor happy moments and tell people how much you appreciate them. Here are five things I’m thankful for today.
