I love these outfits for inspiration when the days are oh-so long and hot and you’d so rather be at the pool than in the office.

My mother and my future mother-in-law are very attractive ladies and at this early juncture, seem to love each other. They’ve been discussing together what to wear to our nuptials. They don’t want to dress alike but want to compliment each other. So many of the “mother of the bride” dress categories I see on sites like Dillards, Nordstorms and Macy’s are sooo not something that would make a MOB feel beautiful. I know that my mothers started dieting long before I did, so they will and they should look their best. And as an Southern girl knows, it’s their time to shine too. While I know they will unlikely be purchasing from Net-A-Porter, that site does such a lovely job of recommending styles that an actual beautiful mother of the bride would want to where. Therefore they are a good place to start for inspiration. A question I have for you, dear readers, can a MOB wear black?

In dreamland, my bridal shoes would be Miu Miu, McQueen, Jimmy Choo or Louboutin. Dream with me, won’t you? This is if I go the more traditional route…I will have to devote an entire post to non-traditional shoes.

Miu Miu (favorite, I think?)

In the real world, however I must search for an affordable(ish) option and I’m pleasantly surprised by what I see. Badgely Mischka has quite a few lovely options.

Now that I have THE DRESS, I can focus on the dresses (among other things) that I will hopefully wear to parties here and there. I love the idea of the bride wearing a chic white dress to all the engagements she attends. Here are some inspiring dresses…
This one is the ultimate…
All these beauties are from net-a-porter and are linked to their sources.
I’ve always wanted to go the non-traditional route of having bridesmaids in a white or cream or butter or blush. A color very close to the wedding dress. The problem is, it’s much harder to find the right dress because there aren’t as many options.
The below are lovely, but of course are from Net-A-Porter. Anyway for inspiration…

All of these gorgeous clothes are quite out of my price range but I love the textures and structures. Feminine silhouettes with structured shoulders and small details…sigh.
