When I mix patterns, (or prints or fabrics or colors) I try to lean towards whimsical, rather than take my outfit (or myself) too seriously. I love to have fun with my clothes/accessories but when taking a “risk”, I find it’s best to be light-hearted.

I asked my little brother to take a few photos of me and this was the result. Slightly on the ridiculous side, just the way I like it.

What I Wore: Topsy Turvy

what I wore: top – forever21, trousers – talbots (thrifted), heels – antonio melani (similar here)
I really liked the juxtaposition of stripes on the shirt with checkers on the pants but I couldn’t figure out what to do with the shirt because the pants are a little big. I tried tucked in, tied to the side, tied in front and finally settled on tied in the back. Then I rolled the pants.

What I Wore: Cheetah

what I wore – top – thrifted, jeans – banana republic, heels – bcbg, necklaces – thrifted/vintage, nails – pistol polish in bulletproof

What I Wore: Bossy (Print & Nails)

I have been very excited to get my September PISTOL polishes in the mail (see August here) and they did not disappoint! I’m obsessed with the shade shown (called bulletproof) because it’s teal-ish navy that only gets darker with the coats applied. I haven’t seen another color like it so props to my girl LT for conceptualizing!
