Party Trick: Lips
I love wearing bold lipstick but I always get it on my teeth and I hate reapplying after one sip of a drink. One of my favorite tricks is to layer a favorite shade over a longwear. I kid you not, it lasts all day. Working for CoverGirl, I obviously tried the Outlast longwear and it works amazingly. I have looked for other drug store versions and have not been able to replicate so it really is my #1 recommendation. For Red lips, I use Outlast in Everreddy and once it dries I apply Lip Perfection in Hot.
For hot pink lips, I use Outlast in Dusty Rose and Lip Perfection in Spellbound.

I haven’t posted an outfit lately. I’ve been feeling so frumpy and lazy and have been sick for what seems like weeks. ppppppoooor me! I’ve found an incredible amount of cheap and fabulous jackets/blazers/sweaters at this creepy little thrift. It’s quite exhilarating to find something fabulous for under $5! I’ve also been into wearing a bold red lip and not much else in the form of beauty regimen.
Inspired by the 40s
I am currently inspired by the feminine silhouettes of the 1940s, the soft coifs, the bold lips, the high waist…re-imagined into a more modern replication.

Big Day Beauty
I hadn’t thought much about it until recently, but how do I want my makeup for the wedding? I want to look like myself – just enhanced but I also want to look fab in pictures. Do you go for understated or statement? I need your help, sweet readers and friends! I won’t share my dress but I will say that it’s white, it’s not strapless and I’m wearing flowers in my hair with minimal jewelry and the hair back. Let me know what you think is most appropriate! Here I am as a point of reference ;)

Friday I felt very patriotic. I love a good red lip. I’ve found that the best way to perfect it for someone like me – who gets it all over her teeth – is to do a base coat of a longwear. Emma Stone has been getting a lot of flack on the blogs and gossip sites for this Giambattista Valli number she wore to the Friends with Benefits premiere. I have to say I am feeling completely opposite about it. I think it’s totally fabulous.

Red Lips
This is my favorite look for summer. Nothing plays up a tan like red lips. My go-to red lip for summer is CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Flame.
