V-V-V-V-Vacay

Dear Readers,

All three of you…I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday. I wish everyone was able to take off  most of the week like me. I know you’re jealous if you are not one of those people. I know I would be if I were you. However, even though you begrudge my time off, you cannot take it away from me. For that and for you, I am thankful.

I must tell you I will probably take a hiatus from posting as often as I like to in regular life in favor of drinking wine on someone’s couch mid-day while watching soapnet, forcing my brothers to listen to my music or “helping my mom cook” which also entails magazine reading and perusing her closet. Also, there will be plenty of time spent in the tub (see etsy).

While I’m away, do a few things for me.

  • Go see Burlesque and tell me about it: so I don’t have to because I fear I’d never stop complaining about it and that’s not good for anyone.
  • Check out GoFugYourself. It is so freaking funny and I love it.
  • Try some Man Repelling. I have a serious and not-so-secret crush on Leandra Medine, the author and her man-getter to man-repeller instruction manuals.
  • Check this ridiculous website for office gifts: Knock Knock

Helpless

There is a lot going on in my world this week. I’m feeling a bit helpless as some loved ones are going through tough times and there’s not much I can do. I’m leaning on some Jimmy Ruffin for support.

Monday

It’s Monday again. October has ended and soon daylight savings will as well. As much as I look forward to the holidays, the sun going down before I leave the office in the afternoons is not quite appealing. With temperatures spiraling downward in the near future, I’m enjoying these last few days of later sunsets and bare legs.

When People Stare…Just Smile

I am someone who tries (but does not always succeed) to be fashion-forward, I try outfits that I consider to be chic. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren’t but it’s the thought that counts, in my opinion. That’s how you develop your sense of style – by trying new things and standing out. Not everyone appreciates this. Some people will stare or laugh or point but that’s usually because they’re dressed in crocs and do not want or try to understand fashion. I appreciate all those that take pride in the way they look and I realize that most of us (myself included) cannot do it every day. If you are discovering your style and dress against the norm, just smile at those that look at you like you’re crazy. A smile is prettier than a frown anyway. xx

Siesta

Ever have one of those days where you wish you lived in a country where it was appropriate to take a mid-day siesta? Yeah…me too.

Monday Morning

Today I woke up to mind-numbing allergies. They catch me by surprise every time! But, my weekend was lovely, hope yours was too.

Playing Catch-Up

It’s the beginning of another new week! Mondays almost always make me feel helpless, like I’ve got so much to do and haven’t accomplished as much as I expected. By Friday, this feeling fades into the very back and is replaced by excitement and whimsy.

This week, I really do have a lot to do to prepare for vacation (yay!!!!) starting Sunday. Emails to write, projects to wrap up, plans to make, packing to do. I hope your week is starting nicely.
