Honeymoon Edition: Roma

Rome was our last destination and I must admit we were really tired by the time we arrived. But, we couldn’t go to Italy without experiencing some history! Above we are on the train from Naples to Rome.

Sightseeing around the city

A hilarious oops

Ro was the tallest man for miles until we met a couple from Holland. The guy was easily 7’1″
I gained 7lbs in pizza ALONE

Below in Campo di Fiori, which is a great place for nightlife and used to be a spot for beheadings!
I can’t believe it’s over! Definitely the trip of a lifetime!

(WHAT I WORE: red/black dress – maude shoppe, sandals – impressions, black front snap bra – vintage, just married necklace – kate spade / blue dress – vintage, sneakers – converse/ white tank – old navy, skirt – american apparel/ jeans – seven, linen button down borrowed from ro – banana republic, sunglasses – vintage ray ban)

What I Wore: The Tropics

(what i wore: skirt & blouse – vintage, earrings – kate spade, pumps – forever21, lipstick – nars roman holiday)
Wednesday was so dreary. I pulled out the brightest pink skirt (it has a matching top!) and my day immediately brightened.

Style Icon: Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface

Elvira Hancock exudes sexy with totally sleek, shiny hair, cat-eye sunglasses, slinky evening dresses & cigarettes. Michelle Pfeiffer managed to perfect the look of the beautiful & bored love interest of drug lord, Tony Montana.

Honeymoon Edition: Getting there

We showed up to the airport (I wore a bowtie) and we were so excited for our adventure to commence. But, we realized almost immediately that our flight was delayed – causing us to miss our connection to Rome. We thought the airline would be happy to help the honeymooners….no such luck. After being told they couldn’t get us out until the next evening – and a little hysterical crying – we were re-booked on a different airline by our fairy godmother/travel agent.

After standby to Chicago > Paris > Rome, then a four hour drive to the Amalfi coast, it was worth it.
(what i wore: white tuxedo jacket – banana republic, dress/bowtie – vintage from grey dog, heels – forever21, earrings – kate spade)
These were taken on the way to Positano. More to come!

MUCH ADO ABOUT EVERYTHING

I’m finally back to posting after the wedding/honeymoon extravaganza! I wanted to share a few pictures and will hopefully have much more soon!

In Roma

What I Wore: Complimentary Colors

(what i wore: blouse – vintage from potter’s house, skirt – banana republic, pumps – michael antonio, jewels – gifts & vintage) HAIR BY JENNI ASHFORD OF ULTRA SALON :)
I love wearing blue & navy or  pink & red (as in this case) together. I think it adds depth to an otherwise simple outfit. Do you feel the same?

What I Wore: B&W

(what i wore: blouse – vintage from potter’s house, pants – old navy, heels – forever21, jewelry – forever21 & vintage, bag – tj maxx)
Yesterday I was pretty lazy. I put on some really comfy, breezy clothes and easy hair.

What I Wore: The Blues

(what i wore: dress – vintage from cheap thrills, heels – bakers, brooch – vintage, earrings – birthday gift)
Yesterday I wore one of  those dresses that make you almost giddy and you kindof wish you could wear it everyday. I call them “cartoon dresses” because they become contenders for what you would want to be wearing if you were animated and forced by the confines of some illustrated sitcom to wear the same thing everyday (sorry if I sound a little crazy, I’m getting married in 10 days!).
I love it so much but it is vintage and slightly fragile so shapewear must be worn in the event that a button flies, the last thing I need is a boob slip at work…

What I Wore: Old Faves

(what i wore: jeans – seven, vest – vintage ann taylor, heels – quipid, earrings – vintage)

For last Friday, which was casual, I wore some of my favorite jeans, a treasured vest and super tall heels. I hope you had a fun weekend!

What I Wore: Bun + Shift

 (what i wore: shift – asos, heels – bcbg, – cuff/ring/earrings – unknown, ha)

I loved the outfit I wore yesterday. I really felt feminine and ladylike.  This is the kind of look I prefer: a shift, a huge bun, strappy shoes. I was extremely proud of my bun. Would you believe I didn’t know how to tease it this time last year? I have to share that I sent a pic of my hair to Erika Bearman (OscarPRGirl) and she tweeted back “it’s major” totally made my day…
