Looking Forward to Fall

Ok. Officially. It is too hot. I’ve given up hope that it will ever cool down. I’m thinking we will have to bring sweats and leggings to Italy where the high is a balmy 82 and the low is a frigid 60. If fall ever comes, here are a few things I look forward to wearing.

What I Wore: Black Basics

(what i wore: sheath – kensie, heels – baker’s, earrings – a gift from my brother from guadalajara, mx)
I’ve had this dress for almost four years and I’m still obsessed with it. It’s basically a sack, which is fabulous. It can be worn as is with towering heels and low-maintenance hair for a minimal look, which is what I did today. Or it can be belted and will morph into whatever you want.

What I Wore: Sunny Shift

(what i wore: dress – tj maxx, i think, belt – vintage, heels – bakers {during the sex & the city movie craze})
Luckily this heat wave is a perfect time to wear the bright yellows, vibrant greens, punchy oranges. I did just that last Thursday with this sunny shift.

This Weekend

I’m heading to the lake with girlfriends for a weekend of thrills and chills. Hope yours is epic or rejuvenating, whichever you prefer….

What I Wore: White on White

(what i wore: sheath – banana republic, blazer – vintage, stripper heels – quipid, rings – forever21, earrings – banana)
Feeling bridal, as usual, I paired an off white sheath with a cream blazer and my crocodile stripper stilletos.

Julia Stegner is as beautiful as ever in this editorial from Harper’s Bazaar 2008. I love the juxtaposition of the black & white against the desert. Enjoy!

What I Wore: Transitional

(what i wore: glasses – shop ultra, tunic – forever21, jeans – levi, wedges – qupid)
Not sure why I’m wearing transitional outfits when it’s hot as an inferno outside. However, it’s very difficult to dress for being in air conditioning all day. Sometimes it feels so frigid inside, you’re uncomfortable wearing sleeveless. So, I wore this Friday and felt great all day inside my office. As soon as I stepped outside I thought I was going to stroke out. Nonetheless, I can’t wait to revisit it for fall.

What I Wore: Prim & Proper

(what i wore: dress – forever21, pumps – forever21, rings – forever21, necklace – mom’s, earrings – kate spade)
I didn’t realize until I began this post that everything I’m wearing (save the earrings/necklace) is from Forever. Either way, F21 is a great place to experiment without spending a lot of money. The earrings  were a gift from my dear friend who just started working for Kate Spade. Of course, the high bun is an old standby and I loved pairing a double finger ring with another single ring. Speaking of rings, Ro’s wedding ring came in yesterday. Sh*t is getting real! Can’t wait!

What I Wore: Neon Blooms

(what i wore: dress – the grey dog, heels – forever21)
As much as I love to accessorize, I’m also really excited when I find a dress that needs nothing else. This is one of those fun summery dresses that can be paired with tights when it gets chilly. Versatility people!

Ladies Lunching

I adore these sugary-sweet images of pretty girls in hats and gloves eating confections. What’s more fun?
