I recently discovered the cutest little wedding photographed by Feather Love…

The couple (Kestrin and Jonathan) look like so much fun, plus the bride is gorgeous and is in a band with the brother from Big Love called His Orchestra – they are great! Anyway, the groom’s sister is Flora Grubb and she shared their vows on her website. SO. Freaking. Adorable.
“Jonathan: I vow to love you
Kestrin: I vow to love you
J: to respect you
K: to always make fun
J: to be your best friend ever
K: to constantly generate a force field of awesome to guide and protect us
J: to do what I love
K: to actively maintain our relationship
J: to be lucky
K: to live a charmed life
J: to live as long as possible
K: to ask nicely for what i need
J: to communicate my feelings effectively
K: to live a life of hilarious bliss together
J: to provide for you
K: to solve problems
J: to make time for you every single day
J: to remain curious
K: to stand by my man
J: to put our relationship first
K: to build a community around us
J: to build a family life together
K: to give you babies
J: to change the diapers on those babies
K: to be great parent
J: to sing with you in the morning
K: to give you shoulder rubs, intermittently, for as long as we both shall live
J: to remember how lucky I am
K: to rock out with our great grandchildren
J: to take you on one hundred honeymoons
K: to maintain a menagerie
J: to clean up
K: to sing songs to you
J: to speak for you when you sing your voice out
K: to throw radical parties
J: to be faithful to you
K: to take joy in doing nice things for you
J: to be compassionate
K: to be devoted
J: to be committed
K: to be happy
J: to listen to you
K: to support you
J: to stay with you forever
K: Do you vow to be my husband?
J: I do. Do you vow to be my wife?
K: I do.”
Also, please read the NYT write-up of their union. “Ms. Pantera, the former Jedi warrior, pledged in her wedding vows “to constantly generate a force field of awesome.” When asked about her hopes for the couple, the bride’s mother, Jan Pantera of Visalia, Calif., said, “I wish for them a good credit score,” revealing the origin of the bride’s practicality.”

It’s wedding season! We have at least five weddings to attend this summer! As I mentioned here, my favorite dress trend is the open/low back gown. It’s so fresh. I’ve found a few more that I love and wanted to share.

Another Jim Hjelm Gown

I must share these photos from the wedding in the delta, mentioned here and here. It was lovely and fun and seemed so effortless, although I’m sure it wasn’t! It all took place on Lake Chicot in Robert’s hometown of Lake Village. There are so many dying towns in South Arkansas but this doesn’t feel like one of them. The people are friendly, they know how to throw a party and they eat hella good.

The backyard, tables, flowers and lake.

The extended dock

The bride’s father, Mr. Paul, fished out a hat that had gone astray.

The partaaay

Flip-flop basket, best idea ever!

Amazing music

More amazing music…The revivalists, straight from NOLA.
I am continually inspired by other blogs and The City Sage is one of my favorites. Yesterday, Anne posted Wedding Season Approacheth and gave some lovely recommendations.

Lo and behold, last night it was decided that my beau and I would be going to a wedding in “The Delta” this weekend.
It is already 90 degrees there, outside wedding, on the lake, afternoon, open bar….What to wear?

Definitely a hat, right?

1. Forever21 2. Target 3. Banana Republic 4. Dillards 5. Dillards
What about the dress? It’s going to be hot as Hades but it’s also with my BF’s family and I always want to stay classy and ladylike at a wedding!

1. Forever21 Ballerina dress, too much? 2. Dillards safe green dress 3. Dillards Halter, me likey – too much cleavage? 4. NY&co breezy short dress 5. Dillards little floral dress 6. Dillards really dig the color and style but might not be right for the occasion 7. Dillards I love this but I’m afraid it would look xxx on me…I got curves, yo! 8. Dillards I kinda love this canary color 9. Express Love the “blush” color
I think I’m going to go to Dillard’s right now and try on #3. Did I mention we’re bringing both the dogs on this lovely little outing? I’m sure I’ll have stories and pictures come Monday!

OMG. The Fall 10 bridal shows have taken place and thanks to NYmag, they are very accessible. The great thing is, I have a girlfriend (McCall) who just got engaged, so I don’t have to feel quite as silly pouring over the details of wedding dress after dress…I cannot wait to see Monique Lhuillier but alas she has not shown yet. Here are my faves so far…
I loved the use of floral hair accessories in the Douglas Hannant show. The white makeup…not so much.

I always enjoy seeing the looks from Badgely Mischka, I especially love that they’re showing back!

Thoroughly loved Reem Acra.

Definitely my favorite…Oscar De La Renta tinged on the Spanish-Virgin-Mary-ish but a few of the dresses were SO FREAKING GORGEOUS! Loved a bunch of them – didn’t love the white hose though.

Junko Yoshioka was feminine and lovely

Always a favorite, Vera Wang was elegant but slightly safe.

Carolina Herrera didn’t blow my socks off. This was the only one I liked below.

So sweet and different from Jenny Packham

Loving from Elizabeth Fillmore but so wish I could see the backs!

Alright but didn’t quite captivate me (Click designer to see for yourself): Anne Bowen, Nicole Miller, St. Pucchi
