I wouldn’t call myself a camping enthusiast. But, I do have a healthy relationship with the great outdoors. I can hit up an air conditioned cabin with the best of them! Seriously though, I love music festivals and floating. It’s not something I want to do every day but I do want to look good every time I do it.

As of Friday morning (the same day I woke up at 4am to watch the royal wedding) there was nothing packed in either Robert’s or my house. As of today, we are living in the new house. So… a lot went down over the last few days. There was rain, there was 40 degree weather, there were floods and not everything is complete… BUT! we spent the night there last night! I cannot put into words the relief I feel today as I think about my new home with the guy I love and our little doggies. More to come about decorating and the like…

Ok…I have royal wedding fever just like everyone else. I’m not sure I’ll wake at 3am to watch Guiliana’s E coverage but I’m still excited. I can’t wait to see what she’ll wear!! Everyone waits with breath that is baited. I heard that everyone in the UK gets Thursday and Friday off, duh. I’m OBSESSED with this editorial. Especially the first photo which seems to scream Romeo & Juliet in a modern/princess/fashion way. Such high spirits in these photos! Doesn’t everyone deserve to be as happy as this?
Sometimes you can have too much of a good thing. I don’t believe that applies to art on the walls. When done right, a gallery wall can be spectacular. It can be done in any room, with or without a theme. It can cover a blank wall or a busy one, a small room or a large one…just make sure you’re happy when you walk in and don’t be afraid to take a few decorating chances.

With summer upon us, music festival season has arrived! This year I won’t be going to any sleep away festivals (Wakarusa, I’ll miss you!) but I will be attending several concerts. Concerts and festivals are a great place to pull out (pull off) some of the stuff you love but consider too “out there” for daily wear. Case in point: feathers, onesies, boy shorts as pants, anything sheer, jewelry overload, headgear and bold color combos. The best places to find shop these looks would definitely be thrift stores. If you’re local, I recommend Grey Dog, Cheap Thrills, The Daisy Exchange & The Samaritan Shop. As I write this, I realize I should put together a list of local thrift stores so keep a look out for that in a future post.
