My mom, brother – Asher, dad, aunt, uncle & his wife traveled to Charleston, SC to see my other brother – Hampton graduate last week. We had an amazing time. Charleston is such a fun/beautiful city and it’s about 9 miles from a lovely little place called Folly Beach, which happens to be one of my favorite locations.

I forced the boys into a little impromptu photo shoot.
One of my baby brothers is graduating from college! He has been living in the most preferable of situations. School in downtown Charleston, minutes from the beach. My mom, other brother and I are going early to spend a few days at Folly beach before the rest of the family comes in and we fete Hampton.
While trying to keep in mind the packing guides I found last week, I’ve got to plan several chic dinner ensembles & beach day looks. I’m thinking flowing dresses and big hair, stripes & denim cutoffs, bright lips.
I got these booties for my DC trip and literally wore them with everything from a mini dress to maxi dress to cargo skinnies. I’ve never owned a shoe I could/would wear with anything. I’m obsessed. Here’s one example.
Today I’m leaving for a long weekend in Washington, DC. My bestie lives there and we are going to eat, shop and see live music. It’s always fun to pack for a weekend getaway but also a little nerve wracking because of the contributing factors. Will the weather be as forecast? Should I only carry on? Do I need clothes for rain? Will I be walking a lot? Which bag/s? I always lean toward over packing. There are inevitably several items I pack and don’t use. I’m a dress person, so I’m planning to wear pants & a blazer to travel, then bring my dresses.
Here are a couple of packing guides that I found helpful…
It’s Spring, so it’s time to enjoy it. This weekend I’m off on a girls trip to Memphis & Mississippi. We’ll be cooking, eating, drinking and riding horses. I hope you have a lovely, warm weekend. Remember, happy is as happy does.
Every year during carnival season, I wonder (more than usual) why I ever left New Orleans. The city is really so different than any other place in the country. Once you fall in love, you start a life-long affair with the place. Who couldn’t love a city that shuts down for a party?
So, although it’s just another Tuesday in Fayetteville, I’m wishing everyone a happy mardi gras! Laissez les bon temps rouler!
My team at work has “offsites” where we head to a neighboring town, walk stores and do something fun. Today we’re going to the Taylor Swift concert in Tulsa. Get excited for a What I Wore post – I’m wearing a square dancing dress…
Rome was our last destination and I must admit we were really tired by the time we arrived. But, we couldn’t go to Italy without experiencing some history! Above we are on the train from Naples to Rome.

A hilarious oops
Ro was the tallest man for miles until we met a couple from Holland. The guy was easily 7’1″
I gained 7lbs in pizza ALONE
Below in Campo di Fiori, which is a great place for nightlife and used to be a spot for beheadings!
I can’t believe it’s over! Definitely the trip of a lifetime!
