Sneak Peek: My Wedding
Here are a few of my favorites from our wedding. I’ve got a lot more to share with you after the new year! xo Payton

My earrings and bracelet were antique Mikimoto pearls borrowed from my new mother in law. My engagement ring is a family heirloom that belonged to Robert’s great-grandmother. My wedding ring was created to match by the best jeweler in the state, Mark Fleischner from Lauray’s in Hot Springs. Robert’s ring is also from Lauray’s.

What I Wore: Mellow Yellow
(What I Wore: blouse – cheap thrills, pants – old navy, platforms – bcbg girls, watch – bcbg, left hand ring – cheap thrills, right hand rings l to r – walmart/banana republic/vintage, bracelets – house of harlow from charm & chain/vintage/New Orleans flea market, necklaces – hook: kenneth jay lane, fish locket: tuleste market from charm & chain, earrings – gift from Ro: Kenneth Jay Lane via charm & chain)
Yesterday was one of those days where I felt like piling on all the jewelry I own. My beloved engagement ring is at the fabulous Lauray’s in Hot Springs, AR having it’s matching band created (an omg I’m getting married moment). Of course I had to pick up a bauble to replace it for the time being and decided to play with all the gold pieces I have been neglecting in favor of the simplicity of my diamond.
I also opted to pile my hair up. The big bun that I love is simple to do (instructions here) but the topknot is almost too easy. And I’m obsessed with these pants. I have them in yellow, white, khaki and brown; they are best when paired with a blousy top. They make your legs look ridiculously long because they’re so wide-leg and cover your shoes.

The Proposal

We’re engaged! I am still in shock, completely. My sweet (fiancé – gahhh!) Robert asked me to get hitched on Friday night. I was totally surprised. My mom was in on it and lured me out to the Fayetteville square on the guise of taking family photos. He was completely caught off guard when the square was full of people, horse-draw carriages and even camels. We started walking around and he told me I was the love of his life – to which I said “you’re the love of my life too babe!” I did not get it until he dropped to one knee. I couldn’t believe it and collapsed onto him, hugging him. We are out-of-this world excited. His family honored me with his Great-Grandmother’s ring. Many more details to come!

You are so beautiful to me

I want to take you home Georgian Diamond Cluster Ring!
For no particular reason except that it’s pretty!
I would say that 90% of girls/women enjoy perusing engagement rings/ wedding dresses. This is not because they want to get married or even indicative of them being unmarried. They just like to look at beautiful things. Women who deny this are not to be believed. *Personal opinion*
Since I am in a less than chipper mood today, I’ve been doing just the above. I adore vintage and antique engagement rings, even a marquis is beautiful to me if it’s from 1920 (and big ;) Click for fun places to look – for less expensive, a good range, Also try http://www.faycullen.com & http://www.langantiques.com
