Usually I don’t have pictures of what I wore on the weekend but I’m trying to get better. I typically feel awkward asking someone to take a photo because it always ends up an ordeal. Last weekend, I forced the issue. I even got a snap of Ro, looking handsome if I do say so myself.

What Ro wore: polo – curly tail, pants/shoes – asos, watch – tissou, sunnies – rayban

What I Wore: Color Story

what I wore: blouse – blair boutique (thrifted), wax skinnies – 1st kiss via tj maxx, scarf – oscar de la renta, boots – asos

The shoe to wear with everything

dolce vita booties, $78 Shop Lola
I got these booties for my DC trip and literally wore them with everything from a mini dress to maxi dress to cargo skinnies. I’ve never owned a shoe I could/would wear with anything. I’m obsessed. Here’s one example.

What I Wore: Pumped Up Kicks

what I wore: dress – vintage from grey dog (also seen here), shoes – go jane
So…I’ve been really into my new orange shoes from gojane. I love the idea of a girly dress and sneakers. There’s nothing more comfortable.

What I Wore: Greenery

what I wore: cardi – express, skirt – vintage melrose options via potter’s house, booties – gojane.com
I’ve been dying to try this outfit out. It’s an old (see 1995) Express cardi worn backwards with a new-to-me vintage silk skirt from potter’s house. Topped off with neon green booties (called yellow on site) I just purchased at gojane.com. Go Jane has been such an exciting find for shoes lately! The prices are great and the heels are high! I also got these great orange high tops that I plan to wear with delicate skirts ala TTH & some giant tweed platforms in blue. Scroll for more photos!

What I Wore: A tutu, among other things

(what I wore: blouse – vintage from potter’s house thrift, skirt – old navy, tutu – dance supply store, tights – hue, boots – aldo, jewelry – vintage and forever21)
Every time I put these thigh-high heeled boots on I feel a little like Hooker McCanIWearthistoWork. However, I believe they can be done in a ‘tasteful & edgy’ way instead of a ‘streetwalker – pretty woman’ way. Hopefully that was accomplished with this outfit. Either way, I didn’t get walked out by HR, so no matter.

What I Wore: Dress/Boots/Argyle

(what i wore: dress – vintage from the Samaritan shop, boots – Brekelles from ebay, socks – claire’s)
I’ve been super excited to wear these boots I bought on ebay a few weeks ago. They’re the perfect height and heel for longwear and protection from the winter elements. But…they are so wide on top, it’s ideal for leggings but not dresses. So, I thought paired with socks they looked a lot more fun. I’ve had a lot of trouble finding above-the-knee socks, do you know where to find?

BIG News: If the shoe fits…

Dear friends, I’ve hit a big milestone in my bride-dom. I purchased shoes that I intend to wear with my wedding gown. Apparently the shoes you are going to wear on that day are imperative to the hemming process. Who would have thought? Now, I know you haven’t seen the actual dress but I will divulge that it’s white. wink wink.
What do we think? They were quite affordable ($109) compared to the Miu Miu’s I’ve been lusting after. And, don’t worry there’s a 60 day return policy in case the glitter actually looks like a kindergarten art project.
I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m a shoe girl so I wanted something fun. I always wear heels, plus my intended is over a foot taller than I am so I never feel bad about wearing stilts. I figured out (when I wore flats to our engagement session) that I don’t look as small and fragile next to him as much as short and squatty.

Socks with Sandals?

The age-old question, “can I wear tights with open-toed shoes?” has taken on new meaning for me lately. I am ever-more tempted to wear socks with my blatantly strappy sandals. I actually think it looks really cool. Why should all those perfectly fun cutout platforms be hidden away during cold weather? I do realize that one has to be careful with outfit decisions, as this trend can easily go awry. But I think I’m going to try it! What about you?

Loafer Love

I’ve been wanting some loafers to transfer me into Spring and I think these (in any number of colors) will do the trick.
