Kate Bosworth Coachella Style 2011

With summer upon us, music festival season has arrived! This year I won’t be going to any sleep away festivals (Wakarusa, I’ll miss you!) but I will be attending several concerts. Concerts and festivals are a great place to pull out (pull off) some of the stuff you love but consider too “out there” for daily wear. Case in point: feathers, onesies, boy shorts as pants, anything sheer, jewelry overload, headgear and bold color combos. The best places to find shop these looks would definitely be thrift stores. If you’re local, I recommend Grey Dog, Cheap Thrills, The Daisy Exchange & The Samaritan Shop. As I write this, I realize I should put together a list of local thrift stores so keep a look out for that in a future post.

You can see some of the most stylish people in their warm-weather bohemian best at these events. Let’s see how they do it…

Have you heard of Hanneli Mustaparta? Well, she’s a gorgeous & stylish model as well as an accomplished photographer and blogger. You can find her here. Obviously with the body of a model you can pull of almost anything but I really love her quirky choices (she’s fond of DIY turbans and CVS socks).

I’m house-hunting again. Robert and I are trying to find a place for June 1 and I’m getting antsy. I’m hoping for a big backyard, a front porch, a cozy kitchen and lots of closet space. We’ll see what we end up with. Here are some (dream) spaces I’m loving…I’m trying to keep in mind I’ll be living with a boy. It should be interesting. All images via decor supersite Lonny. Today I fit back into my vintage After Six navy tuxedo pants thanks to my semi-starvation diet. It feels oh-so-good despite the stomach rumblings. I’m reminded again how much I love high waisted pants. They’re retro and modern at the same time and can be dressed down or up. Not to mention they make you’re legs look miles long.

Lately I have been totally into the high bun. It has always intimidated me a bit because I don’t like to rat my hair. But once I figured out how to do it, I can’t stop! It’s so easy and it can prolong a hair wash for 2-3 days! It also turns any outfit from humdrum to posh. The best tutorial I’ve found is from Beth Jones (here). Do you like these outfit posts or are they annoying?
