So my extremely wonderful and talented friend recently started a subscription nail polish company. It’s similar to birchbox but you get full sizes. Basically, you pay a monthly fee and two full size polishes are sent to your door in up-to-the-minute current hues. I was so excited to get mine that I immediately put it on. This is a sparkling gunmetal called criminail. Check it out here —-> PISTOLpolish, follow twitter @PISTOLpolish or find it on facebook.

Also, I found this dress for $3 at a local thrift store. I love the details like the high back neck and the slit. The colors do date it but I don’t really mind, especially for the pretty price tag.
I am constantly shopping for a bargain but sometimes I realize just how little I paid for a cute outfit and am amazed by the cool things we can find if we’re not afraid to dig a little.
what I wore: dress – vintage paper white from cheap thrills, slip – target, platforms – forever 21
I’ve never adhered to the no white after labor day rules. No, maybe I wouldn’t wear a strapless white shift with sandals in the snow, but that’s really about practicality and not about following set guidelines. On the first day of March, the forecast was for 74 degrees. I am a self-proclaimed sun worshiping summer lover and I took the opportunity to wear a white lattice dress. I knew the minute my eyes locked on this dress that it would have to be mine. You know that moment when you have the internal argument with yourself about how much money you can possibly let yourself spend? Luckily it was $18. And I have to tell you this is the very best silhouette for ANY WOMAN. Ladylike & feminine, it accentuates the waist, shows the legs and covers the arms. PERFECTION.
what I wore: dress – vintage from cheap thrills, bolero – vintage from potter’s house, purple heels – quipid, earrings – gift from Ro (charm & chain)

Look! It’s another transitional maxi dress! This time it’s blue, green and purple – oh my! Seriously, I am taking my maxi obsession to a whole new level. When I saw this dress (it has a low back by the way – can’t wait to bust it out this summer) I knew it would work with both my teal bolero and my padded purple-people-eater blazer. I chose the teal and I loved the combo.
(what I wore: dress – vintage from The Grey Dog, blazer – f21, tights – hue, pumps – jessica simpson, earrings – f21, tutu as slip – ebay, lips – covergirl outlast + lip perfection as seen here)

I love making summer dresses work in the winter. Sometimes the easiest way to do that is with a dress that has black in it. This tropical dress is so summery on it’s own but with the black tights and blazer, it works for winter as well.
Not sure why I’m wearing transitional outfits when it’s hot as an inferno outside. However, it’s very difficult to dress for being in air conditioning all day. Sometimes it feels so frigid inside, you’re uncomfortable wearing sleeveless. So, I wore this Friday and felt great all day inside my office. As soon as I stepped outside I thought I was going to stroke out. Nonetheless, I can’t wait to revisit it for fall.
