Oh hello…
Here I am, casually looking casual in the gym. Not working out but rather, using the mirrors to take pics of my outfit. I wore a dress from TJ Maxx that I’m slightly obsessed with. It’s a jersey/stretchy fabric in a tawny color. It’s totally comfy and it has this amazing train. I wear it way too often. The heels are also one of my favorite pairs. I picked them up at Shoe-nami on Magazine in New Orleans for like $12. I’m also working a bit of a tan. I laid out in my backyard for probably 30 minutes on Saturday and looked like a lobster for it. Thankfully, it’s finally died down a bit.

I mentioned here that I was a fan of turbans but had not yet tried one out. A few weeks later, I found a vintage one at my favorite shop in Fayetteville – Cheap Thrills. I must say, I got a few ‘complisults’ at work. People said things like, “only you would wear that”. Haha.
Who cares, that’s why I love fashion – the ability to experiment. I do realize I’m taking a risk by posting a photo of myself after brutally judging the attendees of the met ball. Oh well!
So now that you see me in a turban, would you wear one?
Today is April 27th. That means our wedding is exactly four months away. I hyperventilated a bit when I realized. In honor of that and of the royal wedding (of course) I thought I’d share some of my wedding inspirations. I am lucky enough to have a vanity. It’s a very special piece of furniture that was given to me by a dear friend of the family. It’s the essential piece for a lady that loves to get ready. That may not be every day but it does happen. I stumbled upon some gorgeous vanities on {this is glamorous}. I prefer the mirrored versions, you?

Lately I have been totally into the high bun. It has always intimidated me a bit because I don’t like to rat my hair. But once I figured out how to do it, I can’t stop! It’s so easy and it can prolong a hair wash for 2-3 days! It also turns any outfit from humdrum to posh. The best tutorial I’ve found is from Beth Jones (here). Do you like these outfit posts or are they annoying?

As the weather warms and the flowers bloom, I find myself attracted to preppy classics. There’s just something so fresh about clean lines and bright colors. I’m not going so far as to tie a sweater around my neck but I do have a certain fondness for madras and seersucker. I tend to veer towards the Jackie Kennedy or Kathryn Hepburn version of prep rather than Lilly Pulitzer. How about you?
