What I Wore: More Charleston

Here are the rest of my Charleston looks:

what I wore: blue jumper – ashleigh morgan, black floral dress – unnamed vintage , green maxi –  bcbg, cream pants – new york & co, Hawaiian crop top – contempo casual, cream blazer – unnamed vintage, patterned dress – DVF, strappy black heels – bcbg, nude pumps – kelsi dagger

What I Wore: Charleston

what I wore: dress – vintage dianne ricco for nieman marcus, sandals – lovely people, shades – gas station, earrings – vintage from mae’s
My mom, brother – Asher, dad, aunt, uncle & his wife traveled to Charleston, SC to see my other brother – Hampton graduate last week. We had an amazing time. Charleston is such a fun/beautiful city and it’s about 9 miles from a lovely little place called Folly Beach, which happens to be one of my favorite locations.

I forced the boys into a little impromptu photo shoot.

Weekend in Charleston Moodboard

One of my baby brothers is graduating from college! He has been living in the most preferable of situations. School in downtown Charleston, minutes from the beach. My mom, other brother and I are going early to spend a few days at Folly beach before the rest of the family comes in and we fete Hampton.

While trying to keep in mind the packing guides I found last week, I’ve got to plan several chic dinner ensembles & beach day looks. I’m thinking flowing dresses and big hair, stripes & denim cutoffs, bright lips.

What I Wore: River Rat

what I wore: hat – italy vendor, blouse – thrifted, tube – target, shorts – old navy, sunglasses – asos, earrings/cuff – forever 21, rings – urban outfitters, beaded bracelet – a gift, lips – covergirl lip perfection in fairytale
I have always loved to dress on theme, whether on the high or low end of the spectrum. Some of my favorite occasions to dress for include music festivals, fairs and of course, the river. We went to the Mulberry this past weekend and I dressed for the occasion!

(Packing for) A Weekend Getaway

Pinned Image

Today I’m leaving for a long weekend in Washington, DC. My bestie lives there and we are going to eat, shop and see live music. It’s always fun to pack for a weekend getaway but also a little nerve wracking because of the contributing factors. Will the weather be as forecast? Should I only carry on? Do I need clothes for rain? Will I be walking a lot? Which bag/s? I always lean toward over packing. There are inevitably several items I pack and don’t use. I’m a dress person, so I’m planning to wear pants & a blazer to travel, then bring my dresses.

What I Wore: Spring Wedding

what I wore: dress – vintage from cheap thrills, heels – bcbg, bag – ann taylor (thrifted)

I wore this on Saturday to an evening wedding. The dress is one of my favorites that I own. It’s a great party dress that can be worn in any season. It does only good things for the figure and the gold threading actually sparkles. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

It’s Spring, so it’s time to enjoy it. This weekend I’m off on a girls trip to Memphis & Mississippi. We’ll be cooking, eating, drinking and riding horses. I hope you have a lovely, warm weekend. Remember, happy is as happy does.

What I Wore: Muted

(what I wore: skirt & platforms -forever21, blouse – vintage, sunnies – target)
I hate to even think the words, much less type them because I’m afraid of jinxing it…but we’ve been having a mild winter. I hope I’m not cursed to endure below freezing temps now! I know it’s not over! That said, dressing for 30s-60s is so much easier and more fun than dressing for 10s-20s. You do need layering and coats but you can still dress in normal clothes instead of fleece-everything. One thing I love/hate about this skirt is it’s so long, it covers the 6 inch platforms I am wearing underneath, making me look uber tall. However, you do have to wear 6 inch platforms to make the skirt work.
I hope you have a wonderful (and perhaps warm?) weekend!
