NYC/The Dress

NYC was wonderful. It was fabulous to be with friends and family and I felt very spoiled. I’m a bit exhausted today but so thrilled that I found the dress!

The Proposal

We’re engaged! I am still in shock, completely. My sweet (fiancé – gahhh!) Robert asked me to get hitched on Friday night. I was totally surprised. My mom was in on it and lured me out to the Fayetteville square on the guise of taking family photos. He was completely caught off guard when the square was full of people, horse-draw carriages and even camels. We started walking around and he told me I was the love of his life – to which I said “you’re the love of my life too babe!” I did not get it until he dropped to one knee. I couldn’t believe it and collapsed onto him, hugging him. We are out-of-this world excited. His family honored me with his Great-Grandmother’s ring. Many more details to come!

Bird is 11 Months: Flashback

Remember when I shared that I had acquired the sweetest puppy, Birdie? Cue the cutie-cute puppy pics…

Little baby!

Meeting her “daddy dog”

Well now baby Birdie is a big girl! 40lbs! She is happy and healthy and still the cutest thing ever (in my opinion anyway).

For Halloween, she was a witchy-woman.

More Birdie here! Sorry…I’m a proud mama.

This is the gorgeous Isabeli’s real family including her son Zion and her brother Henrick.

Valentino, deer & other things.

I’ve discovered a website to adore: gofugyourself.com has me all excited. On another note and discovered via the fug girls, is it possible that Valentino really looks like this?

Over the weekend I went to South Arkansas with my bf. It was a good trip. His family is lovely and rather un-crazy so it’s always nice to see them. This particular weekend we went to the hunting camp and yours truly happened to witness two large bucks (the deer with the antlers for those of us unfamiliar) “locked-up” in the throes of some sort of Planet Earth-worthy altercation. I was rather proud that I chose to wear knee-high flat boots (thanks forever21!) as I sauntered through the forest hoping to get a look at the Bambi’s daddies/hoping to find a nearby tree if there was any chance of getting skewered. Boyfriend and I were a little behind the action but we did catch glimpses and in the end, the bucks were freed with the help of a 12-foot chainsaw, only an antler and an eyeball were lost…and there’s a video…to be posted shortly.

Happy (almost) Holiday Weekend

Here’s hoping we all have magical weekends complete with frivolity and fun. I’m feeling heady with the promise of a few days off next week surrounded by friends and family. My beau is whisking me off to South Arkansas where we will eat, drink, go to an island in the Mississippi River, sit by the fire and inevitably see Harry Potter. This weekend looks to be the very last warm one we’ll have before we slip into holiday season and look forward to Spring.

Helpless

There is a lot going on in my world this week. I’m feeling a bit helpless as some loved ones are going through tough times and there’s not much I can do. I’m leaning on some Jimmy Ruffin for support.

A Beautiful Bird

I’m so proud of my sweet puppy who continues to grow and learn. It’s honestly hard to believe we almost lost her, she is so full of life. We enjoy her more every day. I had to share some of the latest photos of  “the Bird” as we call her.

Clash of the “Titans”

A couple of nights ago, boyfriend took (dragged) me to see Clash of the Titans. It was exactly what I thought it would be…cheesy, interesting, slightly cool. Honestly, the coolest thing about it was Medusa.

Not the best photo but I totally recognized that face! It was none other than the lovely Natalia Vodianova. Oh how I love her and her fairytale story and her gorgeous family.

She is a 27-year-old who left her native Nizhniy Novgorod when she was in her teens to model after working the family fruit stand, married Englishman Justin Portman, became a star by the age of nineteen, had three children, and quite recently had an epiphany about what she does. “Now that I am older, and a mother,” she says, “I understand that modeling is my job. I don’t do it because it is superfun or because I get to travel or because it brings fame. It is what I do for a living. And that puts everything in the right place.” Vodianova herself has no idea how she attained the status that has been awarded to the women she role-played for Steven Meisel—”There were a lot of beautiful Russian girls,” she says, shrugging, “and I just seemed to stick around.” – VogueNatalia_goff_monte_061107_52cbbjpg
